First, towards a better interfaith understanding (received via email from CAIR):
Muslims worldwide respected Pope John Paul II as an advocate for justice and human rights. His message of international peace and interfaith reconciliation is one that will reverberate for decades to come. We offer our sincere condolences to members of the Roman Catholic Church and to all those who seek a more peaceful world.I was brought up Catholic, although my family isn't religious and I chose not to receive confirmation into the Church because I didn't believe in key aspects of doctrine (such as the Trinity, Incarnation, etc). My mother's family is Catholic and I'm thinking of them, particulary my grandmother, today.
