In one of the curiousities of having a non-Muslim family, my sister gives me "non-denominational winter holiday" gifts that I choose to accept as being belated Eid gifts that happen to be delivered on December 25. My sister is a dedicated atheist who doesn't recognize any religious holiday, but she's able to take time off work to come see the family (or, last year, to go on a vacation to the Southwest with us) between Christmas and New Years so that's when we have our "non-denominational winter holiday".
Anyway, this year she gave me A Prayer for America by Dennis Kucinich, Servants of Allah: African Muslims Enslaved in the Americas, and Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence.
BTW, yesterday was also my sister's birthday. When I was a kid, it used to tick me off that she got twice the presents even though I knew I got my other set on my own birthday. Happy 28th birthday, sis :)
