This weekend, I'll be working on a top secret blogging project, which will be unveiled in a week or so. I'm doing the MT setup for the project and I expect that it will keep me occupied most of the weekend.
Posting will be light at best. Muslim Voices will not appear this weekend; next weekend I hope to be able to do a "double issue", catching up with Muslim bloggers over the two week period. However, since the "Imagine the America you want to live in" series doesn't take too much time, it should go up Sunday as usual, inshallah.
I'm having a great time working at NWIRP. In addition to the database project (which I expect will be ongoing for quite some time), I've been able to help out on another project, as some of NWIRP's clients need to be notified of a change in the law that may affect their immigration status.
Also, NWIRP is in the process of hiring a new executive director. Monday, the three candidates will be put through a marathon as they are interviewed by the staff and the board of directors. We spent most of today finalizing the plans. The three candidates are all very interesting; it's a very diverse group and I think the search committee did a good job in selecting this shortlist.
I feel at home at NWIRP already. They are glad to include me in everything that's going on, even though I only started this week and am just an unpaid volunteer. I'm also learning a lot and gaining great experience. I think that this was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time, al-hamdulillah.
I've got one more post tonight that will have to tide everybody over for the weekend, inshallah.
